IP Address (Logical Address)

  • IPv4: 32 Bits, Four Octets — e.g., 192.168.1.20
  • IPv6: 128 Bits — e.g., 2001:db8::10

MAC Address (Physical Address)

  • 48 Bits (6 Hex Pairs)
  • Assigned by Manufacturer
  • Unique for every device
  • Example: 00:1A:2B:3C:4D:5E
